A brief history of Faizabad

Faizabad is a most popular city of Uttar Pradesh . It was a first Capital of Avadh . .Mughal Emperor Mohd Shah deputed Burhan-ul Mulk Neshapuri of Iran to establish Mughal Empire in Eastern India . Home town of Burhan-ul Mulk was Faizabad In Iran . On 1719 he came to Ayodhya and built a bunglow of "Chhappar" [ Bamboos & Phoos ] . At that time this place called "Bangla".

On 1739 his son in law Nawab Safdar Jung took the charge of Awadh and given new name of Bangla on his native place Faizabad . Nawab Safdar Jung son Nawab Shujauddaula made Faizabad first capital of Avadh . Faizabad was most important and popular city at the time of Nawab Shujauddaula

Elegy ( Marsiya ) poet Meer Anees and Inquilabi poet Brij Narayan Chakbast born in Faizabad . Well known Ghazal poet Nasikh and Aatash was also born in Faizabad . It is a native place of Padam Bhushan & Padam Shri awarded singer Begum Akhtar . Dharmic nagri Ayodhya is 8 klm from Faizabad .Ayodhya is wellknown for Temples & Mazars .Hanoman Garhi ,Kanak Bhawan Birla Mandir , Nageshwarnath, jain Mandir , Bara Asthan Janki ghat are sacred places for Hindus . Grave of Hazrat Shees Paighamber and Nav gazi qabar is an important place for muslims . Gulab Bari where Nawab Shujauddaula buried is most beautiful tomb called Mini Taj Mahal . Gulab bari is a very popular for different kind and colours of roses . Muqbara Bahu Begum Aliya is a highest building of UP is protected by ASI . Wife of Nawab Shujauddaula Ammat uz Zahra ( Bahu Begum Sahiba ) built Muqbara in her supervision . Bahu Begum Sahiba is buried in Muqbara .
